In 21.09 we released a switch to the pharmacy control table so that within CPOE and OE the magnifying glass is hidden and only the defined routes from the Item Master are available.
Agree!! We just had a good catch when a provider ordered Zyprexa injectable as IV yet this medication is IM only. We have it predefined as IM but they provider was able to change the route during order entry. This is a huge patient safety issue!!!
I agree with this. In Centriq, we had to put available routes on each medication and no other route could be chosen, unless Pharmacy was called before and it added. This is also beneficial on meds that are IM only, to prevent the med form being given IVP (as an example).
Definitely should not be possible. Crazy how this system is designed.
