For example if you order a X-ray and receive the report, we would like to be able to attach the report to the order. Same with labs etc.
This would decrease the time searching for documents. Additionally providers should then able to make “comments” on the result and assign the document back to the nurse to tackle to provider request instead of getting out of documents and creating a communication.
This would allow for more complete medical records and increase productivity.
Our x-ray/lab reports do attach to the order. It would be nice if we wouldn't have to click into the order to get to it. It would be nice on order chronology it would just show up with the paperclip/lab beaker and you could click on it from there without having to take the extra step to go into the order and then click on it. Also, in regards to the provider comments, the providers need to be able to put their comments on the reports in the EMR so everyone could see the comments. That would be good for continuity of care as it would be an easy place to look and see the comments. The comments should be seen from any place that report would show in the system along with that they signed off on the lab/x-ray report.
