One of our providers suggested having a hard stop or warning when entering admission orders and the VTE Prophylaxis has not been addressed. The order set has the order pre-checked as default but it still gets missed. Having an alert or stop when the provider attempts to sign the orders would help remind the provider to order VTE Prophylaxis.
I would love to see an intuitive scoring/scaling, order entry process. Example: Provider is prompted to score patient using facility designated scale, then based on the answers, they would be presented with the appropriate set of orders to select that go along with that score. Would require some building but I have worked with other EHRs that do this for VTE and it is seamless.
