Our providers have continuously had issues with attaching sliding scale protocols to Insulin medications. Can we explore ways to streamline this process so that it is fewer steps/clicks for the provider? Anything that would streamline this. It is not exactly intuitive and our ED docs who don't do it frequently always struggle with it. I just created a step by step guide with moderate to large sized screenshots and it took me 6 pages on a word document to do it.
I did just learn from another similar dream factory idea that you can add the sliding scale protocol to the Insulin medication in order sets. This does help, but I would still like the process simplified when initiating an Insulin order outside of an order set Insulin that has it attached already.
