The current design on the preventatives application requires that the preventative be put on an account that is registered to the provider responsible for the preventative follow-up. Otherwise when the incomplete preventatives report is run the preventative won't run on the report that the provider's staff works. We identified that sometimes a preventative gets put on a hospital account or other account type where no one is monitoring the incomplete preventative report. We would like to set up a scheduled report that runs for the prior day based on the date the preventative was entered. We want to see all preventatives entered the day prior to quickly identify preventatives entered on a wrong account type and correct this. However, when running the report, there is no way to add a filter to run by date preventative entered. We can only run by preventative due date. As you know a preventative can be entere for days, weeks, months or years in the future so this is impractical for our purpose. Please add the ability to run this report by date the preventative is entered.
I realize there may be future work to change how preventatives/reminders work but we really could use this today.
There just needs to be a whole health maintenance piece that has letters/reminders, that you can reports off of, see orders for future preventatives, etc.
Additional options for the future:
In the preventative, have a field for Primary Care Provider so that we can run the report by that. We also have preventatives placed on accounts when they saw a different provider (urgent, vacation, etc).
Have the preventatives profile based. If the provider reads mammogram dictation and creates a preventative, it's now on the hospital side. They shouldn't have to open an additional account so that they place the preventative there. The only way to see all is Chart, Communication, Preventatives. Path: Chart, Patient Summary only displays the facility that you are in. The Console does not have Preventatives yet.
