Currently nurses can stop, complete, or titrate IV orders. Could it be done to have an option "Continued upon transfer" that pulls dose/rate information from the last titration if there was one. The nurses don't like to chart "completed" or "paused" as that is not an accurate description when an infusion is actively running when patients are transferred.
Not having this is having an issue with billing, not being able to do this is causing issues with holding charts and not being able to bill insurances
@michelle mason - what do you think? Possible to add another radio button on the MAR (where the options of Give, Omit, Discontinue currently are) of Continue so upon transfer (internal to different dept, or outside the walls of the facility) the nurse could select so they know it was running when the pt left?
That would be HUGE! Our staff have complained about that for so long!
This should also be an option when changing episodes. Example - patient in ER going to observation or inpatient.
