Potentially inappropriate medications for older adults (PIMS) is now a review requirement by CMS (Age Friendly Hospital Measure Domain 2: Responsible Medication Management). We need a way to flag these items in our formulary with a check box, then be able to create an electronic notification during pharmacy verification to send the appropriate notice to the prescriber. Preferably a pop up box "A PIMS medication has been prescribed for this patient, would you like to send a PIMS notification to the prescriber - Yes or No" If yes, we have a drop down box with responses that we will pre build. This response will go to the prescriber. This notification will be documented in the patient chart.
This would be extremely helpful to help meet the requirments with CMS and the Age Friendly Hospital Measure.
