Nursing has found a way to circumvent the med verify process by typing the account number in when they go into the MAR screen before scanning medications. When I ask Trubridge support, I was told this was programmed to assist CPSI staff to test without having a patient barcode. I do not see an issue with this, however, this should only work for CPSI staff with special security or to create a behavior control where locally we can disable this from happening. My concern is that once nursing staff has figured this out they pass this type of thing to others and is breaks the change for the five "Rights of Medication Administration" and defeats the purpose of Med Verify in the first place. Becuase, we have learned that typing the account number and scanning the medications, counts towards the percentages on the Med Verify Scan Report.
