There are many issues with the current options.
*Phone numbers: which number do they want contacted by first? Cell or Home?
*Patient Connect: which (home call, cell text, email) do they want as primary (this currently Communication Preference on page 2 of the Patient Profile. It does not state it is for Appointment Reminders. It is not on screen 1 by phone and email.
*Billing: can we contact them by which options? Can they choose cell/text as primary for appointment scheduling, but email as primary for billing? Can they opt out of text for billing but keep as default for appointments?
*Sec Name should be more explanatory - this is Preferred name/nickname. How does anyone know? It is not on a facesheet when printed, so they do not get called that for appointments.
*Notes - there are so many needs for additional notes. 1)We need scheduling notes: fired patient, needs 30 min appts, only sched with MD. 2)Sec Name field gets used for copay amounts on some patients. 3)Sec name or email or maiden name are used if we contact a family member for appointments. Patient may be in nursing home or assisted living or neither, and a family member brings them to all appointments. There is not a place to chart this person and contact info with a second as a backup. They already have a phone and cell charted. 4) Billing uses dates that a patient is in skilled care or hospice outside of our facility. They may be receiving physical therapy as a skilled care patient. They have lab drawn on date within that 3 month time period. Billing has to stop the skilled account that is ongoing to bill out that lab Date Of Service, then restart the recurring.
*Address - there is a need for Address (where person is living) and Billing address. Patient may physically live at a nursing home, but the spouse at home still receives the bills. The guarantor is still the patient, just the billing address is different. Also adult children take care of billing for some parents, while the guarantor is still the patient.
*At the top of the page in red, with ** it states that we are on the Patient Record. It would be fantastic to know at a glance that this is also tied to someone as a Guarantor, Emergency Contact, Family Member. It could also prompt us to update address or phone on other family member if the household moved and the guarantor is receiving billing statements, but only the child has an appointment, so they are only one changed at this time.
*If a Profile has an Expired Date, can it change the color in the Emergency Contact field on the profile of the person using them as their contact? The next time the patient arrives, we can prompted to ask who they would like to update their contact.
*The Physician on page 1 and Primary Physician at the bottom of page 2 should be listed near each other.
*Census screens, the Notify in Emergency info is much better than on the profile! Is there any other location to enter or see a work phone?
*Census screens, workflow needs to be updated. Stay tab should be closer to the beginning because it will need to be filled out on every account created. Workflow is choppy with a few fields per tab being utilized.
