Yes, we need this also. We have lab orders that get faxed to us that are not for the day/visit that they are received, and we have no where to put them. So they are saved on a network drive until the patient presents for their labs. It would be nice if they could be stored "in the chart" and then applied to the appropriate visit at the time the patient presents. Our registration staff are not qualified to enter "future orders" so that is not an option. To scan to the patient and not a visit would be handy in so many ways, and for more than just labs. Radiology orders is another example.
