CPSI should continue to work towards being able to program and provide the functionality for the required AUR surveillance and reporting required by NHSN beginning in 2024. During my scoping I have discovered that partnering with a third party vendor comes with an exorbitant yearly fee and will take nearly a full year of work to get scheduled, tested, and fully operational. The EHR should hold some responsibility to share the work and cost burden of meeting a universal federal regulation in a timely manner.
Good news! CPSI is working to establish a preferred partnership with an NHSN certified vendor (Wolters Kluwer) to provide AUR and other expanded surveillance reporting options. Please refer to Evident Briefings and/or your Client Executive for details.
