I have shared this with the Patient Connect work group but adding as a Dream Factory to rally more user support.
Background: Patient connect allows us to customize the appointment message that is sent to a patient. In our hospital we have turned on the messages for our OR-Endo Room sending Confirmation message that is customized asking the patient whether they still plan to come for their endo px on the given date. no time mentioned. Then on the reminder message, the date and exact time is provided. At the same time we typically reach out via phone to the patient to confirm the arrival time.
Surgery is not always able to get a hold of the patient but when they do either prior to the appt or on the date of the appointment, the patient states they didn't answer because they "already knew their arrival time" because they had seen it on the portal.
Problem: Depending on when the patient looked at their portal, the appointment time might not be accurate. The endo cases are moved around up until about 24 hrs prior when the reminder goes out and could even change after based on cancellations, etc.
Enhancement: (1) We would like to be able to mark schedules/tasks so that the exact time does not show in MyCareCorner as an upcoming appointment. The date and task/location are acceptable but not the time for these types of surgical items. (2) We would also like to mark some schedules to not display in MCC future appointments at all. We use some holding schedules to help us move orders through our internal processes to the final schedule and we do not want this internal process appointment to show on the portal.
