Referrals needs major improvements. Something like where we start with referrals/transition of care, but from there have more room for comments, documentation, etc we can type in, then to allow us to attach multiple documents from clinical history to a queue to all be faxed as one, and also include the demographics. Pretty much the referral summary or patient summary that you can populate, except we can edit. The summaries that pull dont always include what we need, nor can you edit them, aside from removing sections, and they dont allow you to attach any documents.
Agreed. I worked in referrals on CPSI for years and always had trouble having enough room to provide information on when I faxed (maybe with a check box saying I confirmed it went through), when I called, how many times I called, and who I talked to. It would also be great to have the authorized reps visualized on the referral screen or on the printable facesheet so I know who I can talk to when someone answers the phone. Working in neurology, many times it would not be the patient to answer the phone. This was time consuming.
Agree - almost like a chart export. I wish that sending the referral would record that you did instead of having to go two different places to send and say you sent it.
