Similar to the Health Information Resource there needs to be a place holder for documents recieved that are pertinent to the patients record, or that the Provider needs to see prior to a patients follow up visit. Then the document could be acknowledged or commented on by the provider and added to the patients chart or console.
EX: an Neurologist report on a patient in primary care clinic comes in, we need to be able to upload/scan the document into a queue (attach comments and details in the queue), then when the patient comes back for a follow up the provider can search the queue and find the report and review it before the patient visit.
This would cut down on paper used, as well as improve workflow and communications to providers.
I would love to see a viewable time stamp acknowledgment from the physician. And a place to add comments that would be be viewable from the scan would also be helpful.
